Beaver Dam State Park

Beaver Dam State Park stands as one of the most remote and inaccessible state parks in Nevada. Travel into the Beaver Dam Mountains and experience nature at its best among the rugged canyons. Day use activities include picnicking, hiking and fishing. Campsites are available for those wanting to fully experience the park.

Picnicking

Enjoy a family picnic at either the Day Use area, located at the trailhead to the Beaver Dam Wash, or at the campgrounds.

Hiking

Access an interpretive nature trail from Campground #2. Several other trails are undergoing repair after extensive damage due to a flood in 2005; please contact park staff for the current status.

Fishing

Anglers can access Beaver Dam Wash from the Day Use Area, and hike upstream or downstream from there. The Division of Wildlife stocks the stream with rainbow trout. Regulations require a valid Nevada fishing license and trout stamp, as well as the use of barbless hooks and artificial lures.

Camping

Staying for a night or more in one of the park's campgrounds is the best way to experience all that the park has to offer. Thirty-three individual car camping sites provide overnight adventurers a fire pit, picnic table and parking pad. Some of these sites accommodate trailers up to 20 feet long. Water is available from hydrants, and vault and composting toilets are situated throughout the park. A site for large groups of up to 50 people is available by reservation through park staff.

Beaver Dam State Park is an ideal destination for those wanting to escape into the rugged beauty of the remote canyon lands and juniper pinyon forests of eastern Nevada. Actively explore its natural resources by hiking, camping and fishing, or take a more laid-back approach with a relaxing picnic.
