Campsites Around Las Vegas

Visiting Las Vegas is a great way to have some fun anytime of the year, but sometimes it is nice to get away from the city that never sleeps, and enjoy some of the beautiful campgrounds nearby. Nevada is home to many state parks and campsites as it was one of the first frontiers in the wild west.

Black Canyon

One of the bigger campsites is Black Canyon. It is located near Lake Mead right at the base of the Hoover Dam. It is home to many hot springs and cold springs with temperatures ranging from 55 to 136 degrees Fahrenheit. This area also has many services that offer leisure boat trips around the lake.

Red Rock Canyon

Another popular hot spot is the Red Rock Canyon park. There are all kinds of fun recreational activities including, but not limited to: hiking, climbing, biking and camping. There are also a wide variety of animals to see, such as the desert tortoise, scorpions, tarantulas, Mojave green rattlesnake, roadrunner, jack rabbit, coyote, gila monster, tarantula wasp and hummingbirds.

Mt. Charleston

If you are truly an outdoors person, you can appreciate Mt. Charleston. It is without all the attractions that most of the other sites offer, but it is located near true wilderness with secluded campsites. Mt. Charleston is not for the novice outdoors person and is dangerous if you are ill equipped.

Find the perfect campsite near Las Vegas to get away from the noise and pollution of the city. There are lots of great campsites to visit with tons of recreational opportunities.
