Carson Hot Springs

Next time you find yourself in Carson City, pay a visit to the most relaxing attraction in town, Carson Hot Springs. This is a visit you have to experience to believe.
Natural wonder
Since the late 19th century, natural hot springs have been a large draw for crowds of visitors seeking everything from improved health to ultimate relaxation. Visitors to Carson City were drawn to the historic beauty of this particular natural phenomenon since 1849, and continue to come for the marvelous renewal of tense and tired bodies that only hot spring pools can provide. The springs were originally discovered by settlers and emigrants, many of whom were passing through on their way to the California Gold Rush. Prior to that time, the native Washoe people visited the springs. In 1880, Thomas Swift recognized great profit potential and purchased the site, naming it “Swift’s Hot Springs.” He built a clubhouse, bathhouses and a hotel so that visitors could stay close to the naturally heated waters in comfort.
The Hot Springs today
Carson Hot Springs are unlike other natural springs due to the soft-water feel of the pools, and the air free of obnoxious sulfur smells. The water flows directly from the spring at 121 degrees, and is then cooled to create a variety of temperatures for three outdoor pools and 10 private hot baths. The pools and baths are housed in a resort facility that features an attached nightclub restaurant, bar and massage services, as well as banquet facilities for larger groups and weddings.
Ease into an incredible experience and enjoy the best that nature has to offer at Carson Hot Springs, the perfect getaway for any season.
