Copper Basin Mountain Bike Trail

The Copper Basin Mountain Bike Trail is located to the south of Battle Mountain and is a favorite with those in search of steep climbs and scenic overlooks. This trail offers great views of covered canyons, some old abandoned mines and numerous rocky cliffs and overhangs.

About the trail

Located just off of Highway 305, the trail is marked with brown signs and is considered a moderate to advanced trail, full of technical descents and winding single tracks. There are some double track areas as well. Three main trails comprise this system, each with a different length and skill requirement.

Things to do in the area

While at the Copper Basin Mountain Bike Trail, you may want to consider some of the other activities available in the Battle Mountain region. The Mountain View Golf Course offers a unique desert golfing experience, and gold mine tours are available at Round Mountain Gold Mines. These are by appointment only.

Accomodations

It is not hard to find a place to stay near the trail. The Broadway Flying J Travel Plaza is the main RV Park in the area. Located just off I-80, it is not far from the start of the trail or other activities at Battle Mountain. There are also several hotels in the area, including the Battle Mountain Inn & Suites and Big Chief Motel.
