Lamoille Canyon

Lamoille Canyon is a scenic canyon and recreational park in the back country of Nevada. The park is a great place for families to visit and offers a large number of activities for people with varied interests. The scenic, glaciated canyon is great for trout fishing and is easy to access on a paved road.
Hiking and biking
Many hikers consider Lamoille Canyon's Ruby Crest Trail as one of the best in the state. It stretches for 38 miles and allows visitors to experience a spectacular view of the glaciated lakes and rugged peaks in the area. There are several smaller loops that are great for day hikes, such as the 14-mile Overland Lake Loop and the four-mile Thomas Creek Loop. Road bikers can follow a 97-mile paved path and road route that winds through the canyon and surrounding community.
Ruby Mountains Recreational Area
Visitors to this recreational area within Lamoille Canyon have access to thousands of miles of trails, as well as fishing lakes. Facilities also offer family picnic areas and wilderness programs for children.
Accommodations
There are several RV parks in the Lamoille Canyon region.The most popular are Cimarron West RV Park and Double Dive RV Park. There are also several hotels in the area, including an American Inn, Best Western Elko Lodge and Budget Inn.
A visit to Lamoille Canyon is filled with plenty of outdoor activities and fun. When you are tired after a long day, you can return to your RV or motel room and rest up before the next day out on the trails or fishing on the lake.
